GoldCrime is: A soulful, roots driven, funky unit, with a mission to create groove-oriented extremely danceable tunes, with a universal appeal.
The seed of GoldCrime was planted back in 2004, when successful vocalist/guitarist Wayne Lambert was recruited by local players Brad Hedblom (drums) and Matt Wilson (bass) to form the nucleus of a new project. While this project was short-lived, the easy, natural musical connection was not lost and the three reconnected in 2009 with a definitive direction.
With the core trio reunited and the addition of Richard Craven on horns, this band is tight and confident. That confidence shows in their ability to blend old school and new, weaving together pop, alternative, funk, and reggae and make it current. Influences from Motown, Marley, and Miles are definitely heard amongst the truly West Coast vibe attributed to this band being home grown in Vancouver, Canada.
With an album being mastered and a full length HD Video for “Experience” being edited, there is sure to be some head-bobbing coming soon to the Radios and Music TV in Vancouver and Canada wide. With this kind of music they have turned pubs into dance floors, the Plaza of Nations into an Olympic party and made the Roxy look like a weekend on a Tuesday night. Check them out at upcoming shows, on MySpace, YouTube and Supernova and get turned on to the GoldCrime vibe.
